AND RIVERS In
southern Chile, the Lakes area is characterized by mild weather in summer, a landscape
of gorgeous hills and a large number of rivers, volcanoes and lakes. In Pucón
on the shores of Villarrica Lake and the surrounding area, you can go rafting
on Trancura river, climbing to the crater of Villarrica volcano, through the hot
springs, fishing in rivers, sightseeing at national parks (Huerquehue and Villarrica)
and international sports competitions.
Towards the south, other lakes:
Calafquén Panguipulli Riñihue, Pirihueico, Ranco, Puyehue. The last one shares
its name with a national park that is home to a flora and a typical fauna with
the vegetation that characterizes the southern Chile: Valdivian forest. Further
south, on the shores of Lake Llanquihue, the resorts of Puerto Varas and Frutillar
are the center of tourist activities in the Tenth Region.
From them you
can have access to places like Vicente Perez Rosales National Park, visit Petrohué
Falls and have a privileged view of the perfect cone of Osorno volcano, or the
capricious.summit of the Puntiagudo Volcano. A special mention deserves the possibility
of crossing the Andean lakes Todos los Santos (Chile), and Nahuelhuapi Frías (San
Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina).

TURISM A
new destination for travelers who want new experiences is the phenomenon of volcanic
tourism, since many tourists from around the world are looking for places where
there are active volcanoes.
After the Cordillera de los Andes, Chile offers
a tempting option for adventurous people: 18 kilometers from Pucón, the tourist
park, scientific and ecological Volcanic Caves on the northern slopes of Villarrica

(83 kilometers from Puerto Montt), Osorno (National Park Vicente Perez Rosales),
Puyehue (in the Caulle volcano), the Llaima (to 3,125 meters high), the Antillanca
(in Osorno), the Palomo (with 4,850 meters above sea level) and Ojos del Salado
(280 kilometers northeast of Copiapo), among many others .

| GEYSERS Surrounded
by a stunning landscape and arid landscape, the Chileans geysers are geothermal
field of volcanic origin, where water and steam erupt violently from the deeply
earth.
They are located in more than 4 thousand meters above sea level,
so that temperatures during the morning hours are very low and the jets emerge
of boiling water.
The geysers are at their peak between 05:30 and 07:00
in the morning, when the height of the jets can easily reach 10 meters. There
are natural hot springs near the geysers where you can enjoy a bath from northern
to southern Chile .
